Kaur Films is the brainchild of Harleen Kaur
Kaur Films is a production house based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is to imagine, create and inspire diversity of thought. Our principle purpose is to produce international films that foster new thoughts and ideas that showcase stories of strength and resilience.
Kaur Films also provides a platform for several artists from all creative fields to come together and collaborate. In doing so, we have championed various initiatives such as podcasts, short videos and documentary films. We have undertaken several short projects for Non Profit Organizations that are driven by passion.
Our upcoming venture Drawn Together: Comics, Diversity and Stereotypes looks at the pervasive culture of racist stereotyping in U.S. society through the lens of comics and their dynamic creators. The film was backed by 275+ people on Kickstarter. The film is fiscally supported by the prestigious San Francisco Film Society. We shot the film in UK, India and across 7 cities in the US including at the San Diego Comic Con International. The film has partnered with various organizations including ICAAD - International Center for Advocates Against Discrimination.
Our first documentary production "The Odd Couple" was screened at 10 film festivals across the world including the United Nations Association Film Festival and was specially invited to be a part of The Parliament of World Religions, an exceptional honor. It is now available on Amazon Prime
Our Sikh History podcast series provides a fascinating look into the sparkling lives of the Sikhs from a never told before historical perspective. The 12 episodes have been heard and shared by people in 100+ countries across the world. UNA Forum Presents UNAFF 19
Currently working on her second film Drawn Together- Comics, Diversity and stereotypes, Harleen is challenging the notion of stereotypes based on gender, race or appearance. With a backdrop of superheroes and comic books, the film follows three cartoonists and comic book creators who are defying biases and racism through their art.
Born and raised in India, Harleen now calls San Francisco bay area as her home. Here she devotes her time to various organizations including serving as a member of the jury for the United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF). Her other interests include photography and golf.

Drawn Together- Comics, Diversity and stereotypes
Stereotypes are found almost everywhere in the society. The judgements can be based on looks, gender or even skin color. But is it right to make these generalizations? Don’t actions and values trump appearance? Are there individuals who take these stereotypes head on? Drawn Together attempts to shed light on these questions with comic books and its creators as backdrop.
The Odd Couple
The short documentary “The Odd Couple: A Story of Two Triathletes” is an inspirational tale of two triathletes, each with their own set of challenges. Jeff is a below the knee amputee and an Ironman finisher while Parvin, a follower of the Sikh faith struggles to find a balance between maintaining identity and the rigors of training to be an athlete. Contrasting their challenges.
